Traditional martial arts exchanging performance in Vietnam at the level of bilateral culture exchange in celebration of 20th anniversary of               Korea-Vietnam diplomatic relation

World Martial Arts Union, in short WoMAU (the president, Byung Yong SOH) and Taekgyeon demonstration team visited Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi of Vietnam from April 19th to 23rd. for the

traditional martial arts performance and class at the level of bilateral culture exchange in celebration of 20th anniversary of Korea-Vietnam diplomatic relation.

This event was organized for the sake of invitation from Vietnam Viet Vo Dao Association, a member of the Union, and the aid fund for the performance of Taekgyeon, the important intangible cultural asset by Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation to (Corp) Korea Taekgyeon Association.

WoMAU has contributed to introducing the excellence of Korean culture to the whole world and promoting world traditional martial arts already in Moscow and Vladivostok in Russia and Athens in Greece by traditional martial arts exchanging events from since 2009.

This is meaningful as the first foreign distribution of Taekgyeon which is inscribed to the UNESCO representative list, and it is expected to make the excellence and diversity of Korean traditional culture known and serve as a turning point in formation of local distribution basis.
