World Martial Arts Union(WoMAU, president Byung Yong SOH) finally becomes a center of world martial arts in a substantial manner. WoMAU to have the headquarters in Chungju has got a final accreditation of an advisory NGO of Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in the 3rd session of the regular General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention (hereinafter General Assembly of States Parties) taking place in Paris, France from June 22 to 24, 2010.

In this General Assembly a total 97 institutions or NGOs got a final  accreditation of an advisory NGO through keen competitions and in Korea two, WoMAU and Foundation for Korean Cultural Assets Protection get it for the first time.

Accreditation of an advisory NGO this time by UNESCO means that efforts WoMAU has continually been making to preserve and promote traditional martial arts are internationally approved and it can expand its area much to make a dedication to international society.

An advisory NGO is a body providing administrative or legal services for inscribing on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, implementing programmes, projects and  activities for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage and participating in the process of examination of international assistance and examination on efficiency of protection plan of ICH for inscribing on the    List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.

Accordingly WoMAU gets two statuses of not only an NGO in operational relations with UNESCO accredited in April, 2009 but also an advisory NGO
