As part of promoting activities for admission to WoMAU membership the World Martial Arts Union(WoMAU) visited China Songshan Shaolin temple, the Cultural Dep. of Hernan Provincial Government, and Hernan People"s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries for 4 nights and 5 days of May 11 to 15.    

   WoMAU officials including President Byung Yong SOH introduced itself and the contents of Convention for the Safeguarding of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage to and consulted with people from Shaolin temple about Shaolin temple"s admission to WoMAU membership. By this visit, WoMAU had assured the people from the Shaolin temple itself as an NGO to play a key role in the field of martial arts which UNESCO recognizes, and positively influenced on its admission. However as there should be an agreement inside the Cultural Department to the final decision, WoMAU couldn"t but be satisfied only with an agreement to send its demonstration team and official observer and provide its martial arts documents for WoMAU homepage.   

  Likewise, visiting the Cultural Dep. of Hernan Provincial Government, WoMAU introduced itself and the contents of Convention for the Safeguarding of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Then the people from the Cultural Dep. of Hernan Provincial Government asked for support for the registration of Shaolin Kung Fu and which it is implementing as its major project as UNESCO"s ICH highly appreciating WoMAU"s ability and efforts to raise the awareness of traditional martial arts as an international culture at the level of UNESCO and recognizing the authority of WoMAU as an advisory NGO of Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO"s ICH.   admission to WoMAU membership, but there still remains a task to negotiate with the Government for its official admission because it is sure to require an agreement between the related people in Hernan Provincial Government.
