Arnis played in the Palarong Pambansa

Philippine Arnis was once again part of the Ministry of Education’s Palarong Pambansa (National Games). The weeklong national sports event, which was attended by all 17 regions of the Philippines, is jointly organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the host province of Ilocos Sur about 400 kilometers north of Manila in the island of Luzon. The Department of Education is the government agency tasked to implement this grassroots sports program.

WoMAU Vice-President, Mr. Richardson Gialogo from Philippine Arnis acted as the Arnis Event consultant. He gave lectures and refresher course for the Technical Officials, Referees and Judges for the Arnis Event.

Mr. Gialogo represented the new National Sports Association, the Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation wherein which he is also a Vice-President. The President of the newly formed federation is the Honorable Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Father of the Arnis Law of the Philippines.
