Re-Accreditation as a UNESCO Recognized NGO

The World Martial Arts Union has been re-accredited as an international non-governmental organization (NGO) recognized by UNESCO at the 18th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in Kasane, Botswana. Initially accredited in 2010, the World Martial Arts Union is among the 217 UNESCO-accredited NGOs to have received re-accreditation at this session.

Annual General Meeting of WoMAU

As the highest decision-making body of 70 member organizations from 27 countries, the Annual General Meeting addressed and discussed main agendas related to the Union's operations, including membership issues and the directorial elections. The recent AGM was held at the UNESCO International Centre of Martial Arts Conference Hall, with approximately 30 full member organizations participating to deliberate on main agendas.

UNESCO-Listed Martial Arts Promotion Committee

UNESCO-Listed Martial Arts Promotion Committee, under the World Martial Arts Union, is composed of national organizations representing martial arts inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The meeting was held at Seminar Room 1 of the UNESCO International Centre of Martial Arts, where discussions included the deliberation on new members, reports on the outcomes of the MINEPS7 participation, activity reports from committee member organizations, and reports on listed martial arts.
