Introduction |
It is a Laotian kickboxing. Before the game, the players perform ceremonial dances to honor the Muay Lao tradition in line with the drum, Tomtom. The game is played with music, and the music gets bigger and faster as the game progresses. |
History |
The beginning was as a means of military training in the 6th century. Then the training was banned due to the encroachment of national sovereignty, but with the establishment of the Lao People's Republic in 1975, it has become a national sport. There is a theory that Muay Lao was introduced to Thailand when northern Thailand was in Laos territory, so Muay Thai was born. |
